WHAT IS TAGteach?

TAGteach is a revolutionary science-based technology that enables educators and coaches to teach efficiently and helps students learn effectively.

TAG is an acronym for Teaching with Acoustical Guidance. The focused, positive nature of this method yields immediate and stunning results that are clearly evident to teachers, students and parents.

WHERE IS TAGteach?

TAGteach is used throughout the world, including the US, Canada, England, Ireland, Sweden, Iceland, Norway and France - but as yet not in Australia. See below for the first accreditation seminar to be be held in the Southern Hemisphere.

In many other countries there are now certified TAGteachers in a host of disciplines, including professional golf, national level athletics and amateur sports, Special Olympics,  speech and occupational therapy, precision teaching, behaviour analysis, school classroom and physical education, special needs and autism, business consulting and even on commercial fishing vessels. The list grows continually.

Click HERE for an article in the APDTA (USA) July/August journal on how TAGteach benefits dog trainers and enables them to communicate much more effectively and enjoyably with their human students.

 Saturday September 11th and Sunday September 12th 9.30 a.m - 4 p.m

At 92 Wondall Rd (Wynnum-Manly Leagues Club), Manly West, BRISBANE

C.L.E.A.R Dog Training is privileged to present TAGteach International with Theresa McKeon, USA, who is a national-level gymnastics coach and co-founder & Vice President of TTI and will conduct a 2 day primary accreditation seminar on TAGteach - Teaching with Acoustical Guidance.

TAGteach teaches
people how to teach people by using the same positive reinforcement platform as applied in marine mammal training with dolphins & in clicker training for dogs and horses. TAGteach incorporates professional coaching skills and provides an inspiring teaching technology that enables people to communicate more effectively, enjoyably & speedily with other people. For their students, whether they are four or fourty, learning is much easier, much faster and far more fun.

"Coaches tell you what you did wrong. The clicker tells you what you did right" - fourth grade gymnast

Coaches and students involved in education and sports attending this seminar will come away with the ability to:
                                                     * To speed learn
                                                     * To increase retention
                                                     * To reduce frustration
                                                     * To acquire the full attention of students or staff

Many attendees at past seminars have, naturally enough, been leading dog trainers.  Several of them are authors of cutting edge books & teach at workshops and seminars around the world. Internationally renowned trainers such as Terry Ryan (USA) and Kay Laurence (UK) have noticed the difference in their own trainers - and their trainers' students - and have asked TAGteach to return multiple times.

Cecilie Koeste & Morten Egtvedt, accomplished clicker trainers and owners of Canis Clickertraining Academy in Norway, have hosted multiple seminars. They now require all their dog trainers be at least TAGteach level 1 certified.

All Karen Pryor Academy get TAGteach training and all Academy teachers must be TAGteach certified.

TAGteach is today being used worldwide with spectacular success in diverse fields such as professional golf, equestrian competition, national level athletics, amateur sports, Special Olympics, speech and occupational therapy, precision teaching, behaviour analysis, school classrooms, physical education, gymnastics, dancing, special needs (e.g. autism), and in business consulting.

"It's simple, when you don't get a TAG, you know what you have to work on.” Katharine - age 12

“I’ve been able to add more students to each class….TAGteach has them so completely focused, we get so much more done without any nagging and our teachers love it!” Lynsey Dorsett - dance studio owner
This first ever TAGteach seminar in Australasia will use interactive video, lecture, special guests & lots of hands on practice to ensure attendees gain the foundation skills needed to apply TAGteach in their individual fields.

Business owners, whose managers have attended TAGteach accreditation seminars, report having "better employee attitude, zero injuries and zero law suits'. The TAGteach workshop designed for the management of the Casade Fishing Company has been scheduled for a fourth year. The results of the seminar are undeniable according to the owners. They will continue spending thousands of dollars to fly their management in from all over the world for the training. The improvements are such that other shipping companies are now asking for the same workshops.

Already great dog trainers will be able to become even better dog trainers. They and participants from other backgrounds and professions will be equipped with additional skills and attitudes necessary to become truly effective teachers & communicators. The introduction to the TAGteach techniques and philosophy will ensure that people understand:

                                  * How and why to reduce verbal language when teaching
                                  * How to move clients past the 'fear of failure'
                                             * How to move the teacher past frustration
                                  * How to create razor sharp focus in learners
                                  * How to quickly increase client success rate
                                  * How to retain full classes and avoid student drop out
                                  * How to turn NAG points into TAG points
                                  * How to increase the 'fun' quotient for both the learner and the teacher

Karen Pryor, the author of 'Don't Shoot the Dog' (1984), biologist and dolphin trainer who has been at the forefront of humane and science-based training for decades - is the CEO of TAGteach International. She says,"TAGteach is wonderful for children.They learn so much faster, they are spared the emotional downside of endless corrections, they learn empathy and partnership as they tag each other, & learning through reinforcement is physiologically an elating, joyful experience. What a great way to learn."

“With the TAG you only have to focus on one thing and you know if you are doing it right.”  Hilary - age 12

Click HERE to see Karen's latest book,"Reaching the Animal Mind' (2009) and to watch amazing video clips for each chapter. Chapter 11 is devoted to people and TAGteaching.

Dr Julie Vargas (B.F.Skinner’s daughter and author of "Behavior Analysis for Effective Training (2009), is a leading figure in the field of behavioural science. Recently retired from the faculty of the University of West Virginia she is a director of the
B.F.Skinner Foundation & said of TAGteaching,“It’s amazing that it took until the turn of the twenty-first century for someone to use a specialized conditioned reinforcer for gymnastics, speech therapy & academic skills...my father would have loved to have seen this application of his work.”

Attendance at this hands-on two day accreditation seminar will be limited to 30 participants.  Registration should be done via the TAGteach website in and is US$425.00

It is envisaged that future TAGteach seminars will take place on a regular basis around Australasia so that people who have a primary TAGteach certification can be involved and qualify as Level 1, 2 and 3 instructors. There is no further fee. [Click HERE for requirements for each of the 4 levels of certification.]

Registration forms are available via the TAGteach website (see below). Early registration is advisable in order to:

a) Secure a place and
b) To save while the Australian dollar remains strong relative to the American dollar.

"I have implemented TAGteach with children diagnosed with autism & have experiencecd wonderful results. Teaching sessions are conducted at a faster pace, children learn at an accelerated rate, and I am able to fine-tune my teaching skills. Students appear to enjoy the teaching sessions. When I asked a student why he liked TAG he said, 'Because I win!' " Victoria Fogel  - Associate Behavior Analyst, University of Florida.
 "Absence of the tag directs the child to self assess and try again. The tag just means 'yes, that was right'. TAGteach fosters independent thought & self-motivation since the learning process is now in the hands of the child as facilitated by the coach or teacher. TAGteach creates active learners who are in control of their own learning and who gain confidence in their own ability to achieve without dependence on the opinion of others." - Joan Orr, Canada, Vice President of TAGteach International.

"TagTeach is an ingenious application of behavioral principles that has the potential to revolutionize coaching"
Jesus Rosales-Ruiz - Associate Professor of Behavior Analysis, University of North Texas

 * Accommodation options in Brisbane are available on the TAGteach registration form. As there are several sporting tournaments in Brisbane that weekend early reservations are recommended.

TAGteach International's refund/cancellation policy: a cancellation refund will be issued in the full amount less US$30.00 (for registration processing fee) only if the cancellation request is received more than sixty days from the day of the event. All refunds must be requested in writing.
